One day in elementary school, Avery Anderson makes a childish blood oath with Julio “Lolo” Jimenez to be Best Friends Forever. Ten years later, both the oath and Julio come back to bite him when Avery’s formerly-missing childhood friend returns to inform him of a blood ritual gone horribly wrong. Even vampire fugitives need to do laundry sometimes. In the aftermath of Julio’s hangry tantrum, Avery and Julio split up; Julio to a laundromat for much needed blood cleanup, Avery to a grocery store for some much needed cigarettes medical supplies. Briefly separated, both Avery and Lolo make some new friends. But some friends are nicer than others…
